The Ministry of Jal Shakti has released the census of water structures for the first time, which has revealed that West Bengal has the highest number of water structures in India while Sikkim has the least. Former Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sandeep Singh (Retd) has been appointed as the new Military Advisor to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS). He will assume charge on April 24. He will replace General Anil Chauhan, who was appointed Chief of Defense Staff in October last year. Sandeep Singh retired as the Vice Chief of the Air Force on January 31, 2023, after a military career of four decades.

This reform is the result of huge investments in the country’s hard and soft infrastructure, as well as technology. A multilateral MoU was signed for the implementation of Tejasvi program prepared by the Education Department with the aim of developing entrepreneurial confidence and skills among the students. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Commissioner Public Instruction, State Open School and sister organization Udyam Learning Foundation and The Education Alliance. After signing between all the parties, a copy of the MoU was handed over to the Principal Secretary School Education Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami.

The first Indian Institute of Technology to be set up in Africa will be set up in Tanzania in October. In his presidential address on the 64th Institute Day of IIT Madras, its Director V Kamakoti said that IIT Madras will set up its first international campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania with plans to start classes by October 2023. In February, a team of five professors from IIT Madras visited Tanzania and held discussions with various officials on starting the campus.

With the passage of the Factories (Amendment) Act 2023 in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, reports have registered protests from opposition parties over the provision of flexible working hours for workers in factories. On 19th April 2023, Indian Army and Tezpur University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide Chinese language training to Indian Army personnel. The duration of the course will be 16 weeks and will be conducted at Tezpur University. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Indian Army by HQ 4 Corps and on behalf of the Registrar, Tezpur University in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. SN Singh.

The 2023 edition of the annual exercise “Locked Shields” was hosted by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence in Tallinn (Estonia). “Locked Shields” is an annual cyber defense exercise hosted by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence in Tallinn. The exercise started on 18 April 2023. More than 3000 participants from 38 countries including NATO allies and partners took part in the exercise.
