The Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP) is a Rs 12,721 crore initiative by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to connect Marine Drive with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Telangana government has announced a new insurance scheme for Toddy Tappers called ‘Geetha Karmikula Bheema’. The scheme is similar to the ‘Rythu Bheema’ program for farmers and aims to provide financial assistance to families of toddy growers who die due to accidents while collecting toddy from palm trees in the fields. Under the new scheme, an insurance amount of Rs five lakh will be deposited directly into the bank account of the family members of the deceased toddy tappers.

In a remarkable achievement, Wayanad district has come first in the country in the Swachh Bharat Mission’s ODF (Open Defecation Free) Plus ranking in the three-star category. Interestingly, it is the first district in India to be declared ODF Plus. Wayanad scored a perfect 100 in the ODF ranking, while Mancherial (Maharashtra) and Anupur (Madhya Pradesh) got 90.45 and 88.79, respectively.
