Reliance General Insurance has created history by becoming the first general insurance company to accept Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) e-Rupee for premium payment. The insurer has partnered with Yes Bank to facilitate collection of premium in digital mode using the bank’s e-Rupee platform. Customers who have an active e-Rupee wallet with any bank can scan the CBDC QR code of Reliance General Insurance to make easy, secure, instant and green payments.

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommended the name of Siddhartha Mohanty for the post of Chairman. The decision regarding the appointment of Mohanty as LIC chairman was taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by PM Narendra Modi.

Dubai-based airline Emirates has unveiled the world’s first robotic check-in assistant named ‘Sara’. The system is part of a new City Check-in and Travel Store that is set to launch in Dubai’s financial district. In addition to the new check-in facility, Emirates passengers with a valid boarding pass will also have access to select lifestyle amenities at ICD Brookfield Place, as well as exclusive discounts and special offers at a range of restaurants, gyms and luxury stores.

Gujarat’s distinctive handicraft ‘Mata ni Pachedi’ has been given GI. The word Mata ni Pachedi in Gujarati language literally means behind the goddess. Pachhedi is a religious textile folk art. In which stories and legends related to the Mother Goddess are engraved in the center. Traditionally these Pachedis are hand painted or block printed on the fabric. The origin of this art is believed to be about 300 years ago. In 2020, the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (Gujcost) applied for GI tag to Mata Ni Pachedi.

Indian professional mountaineer Arjun Bajpai has become the first Indian male to climb Annapurna mountain, the 10th highest mountain in the world located in Nepal. Arjun completed the ascent at a height of 8091 meters above the ground on 17th April and has now become the first Indian to climb seven mountains above 8000 metres. Annapurna mountain is considered the most dangerous among the 14 mountains with a peak of 8,000 meters.

Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah dedicated IFFCO Nano DAP Liquid to the nation at IFFCO Sadan, Saket, New Delhi. On this occasion, he said that the total production of fertilizers in the country has been 384 lakh metric tonnes, out of which cooperatives have contributed 132 lakh metric tonnes. Out of this, 90 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers have been produced by IFFCO alone.
