The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PSEB) has recommended Central Coalfields CMD Polavarapu Mallikarjuna Prasad as the next Chairman and Managing Director of Coal India (CIL). The Delhi High Court appointed former Karnataka High Court judge P Krishna Bhat as the administrator of the Basketball Federation of India with immediate effect. Justice Purushendra Kumar Kaurav said the administrator will continue in office till the elections to the BFI are held. He also instructed the administrator to end the election process soon as per the sports code. The court gave its verdict on several petitions regarding the election of office-bearers and members of the executive committee of BFI.

AdaniConnex, a company owned by Adani Enterprises, is building an integrated data center and technology business park at Madhurwada in Vizag with an aim to boost the local technology ecosystem. According to the company, the facility will include a data centre, technology and business park as well as a skill development centre. It will be the first of three planned technology areas in Vizag and one of the largest hyperscale parks in India.

The construction of India’s first International Multimodal Logistics Park at Jogighopa in Assam is well underway, and the jetty is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The park, being built at a cost of Rs 693.97 crore, will provide direct connectivity by waterways, road, rail and air and is expected to be completed in 2023. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH Shri Sarbananda Sonowal recently visited the site to review the progress and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work.

The Uttarakhand government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday approved the ‘Chief Minister’s Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme’. The objective of the scheme is to groom the youth of the state and prepare them to get jobs in foreign countries, said a press release. Apart from grooming and upskilling, the government will also help the aspiring youth with procedures related to ticketing, visa of selected candidates.
