World of Statistics has shared the ranking of “Most Criminal Countries” of the world. Venezuela is ranked on top of the list, which is followed by Papua New Guinea (2), Afghanistan (3), South Africa (4), Honduras (5), Trinidad (6), Guyana (7), Syria (8), Recorded with Somalia (9) and Jamaica (10). India stood at the 77th position while the United States (55th position) and the United Kingdom (65th position) are also ahead of India in the list of most criminal countries.

व्याख्या:- 12 अप्रैल 2023 को कोलकाता मेट्रो, भारत में पहली बार नदी में बनी सुरंग के माध्यम से कोलकाता से हावड़ा पहुंची, इस सफर में सिर्फ अधिकारी और इंजिनियर ही सवार थे। यह सुरंग हुगली नदी में बनाई गई है। कोलकाता मेट्रो के इस रूट पर सेवाएं इसी वर्ष से आरंभ हो जाएंगी। सेवाएं आरंभ होते ही हावड़ा देश का सबसे गहरा मेट्रो स्टेशन (सतह से 33 मीटर नीचे) बन जाएगा। हावड़ा से एस्प्लेनेड तक का मार्ग लगभग 4.8 किमी लंबा है, जिसमें से 520 मीटर हुगली नदी के नीचे सुरंग द्वारा पूर्ण किया जाएगा।
On 12 April 2023, the Kolkata Metro reached Howrah from Kolkata through a river tunnel for the first time in India, carrying only officers and engineers. This tunnel is built across the Hooghly River. Services on this route of Kolkata Metro will start from this year itself. Once the services start, Howrah will become the country’s deepest metro station (33 meters below the surface). The route from Howrah to Esplanade is about 4.8 km long, of which 520 m will be completed by tunneling under the Hooghly river.

On 13 April, Shakib Al Hasan and Henriette Ishimwe won the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for March 2023. Shakib Al Hasan won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for the second time and first won in July 2021. He was recognized for his key role in Bangladesh’s 3–0 T20I series victory over England. 19-year-old Rwandan Henriette Ishimwe won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for her performances in the Nigerian Women’s T20I tournament and the ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

Due to better management and teamwork, the Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR) located in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh has got the second place in the country. Periyar of Kerala has got the first place, Satpura Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh has got the second place and Bandipur of Karnataka has got the third place. Periyar from Kerala got MEE 94.38% score. Same, Satpura Tiger Reserve and Bandipur Karnataka score MEE 93.18%. These figures have been released on the completion of 50 years of Tiger Reserve in the country.

A 3D-printed post office is being built in Bengaluru, India, which will be the first of its kind in the country. The residents of Cambridge Layout are reportedly happy with the development. The cost of construction of this post office is estimated to be 30 to 40 percent less than that of a conventional building and is expected to be completed within 30 days. The construction of this post office built in 1100 square feet will cost about Rs 23 lakh.

In search of the magic number, Japanese physicists have discovered a new isotope of uranium with atomic number 92 and mass number 241. The researchers converted uranium-238 nuclei into plutonium-198 nuclei with the help of the KEK Isotope Separation System (KISS). The protons and neutrons of these two isotopes were exchanged through a process called multinucleon transfer. The team used time-of-flight mass spectrometry to measure the mass of each nucleus.

Tibet Press has recently released a report that according to the 2023 Freedom in the World Index published by international investigator Freedom House, Tibet is the country with the least freedom in the world. The report titled “Freedom in the World 2023 Report” was released by Freedom House on 9 March and identified Tibet, South Sudan and Syria as the “most unfree countries”.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-Mumbai) to develop a touchless biometric capture system. The Ministry of Electronics and IT has given information about this by issuing a statement. UIDAI and IIT Mumbai will work together on the touchless biometric capture system, the release said.

Recently Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report according to which out of total 30 chief ministers of 28 states and 2 union territories of the country, 29 chief ministers are crorepatis. According to this report, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy tops the list with Rs 510 crore. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is second in the list with Rs 163 crore. However, there is a significant difference between the first and second positions. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is at number three in this list, whose total assets are Rs 63 crore.

There has been an increase of 200 in the number of tigers from the year 2018 to the year 2022. Presently the number of tigers in India is 3,167, which was 2,967 in 2018. During the year 2014-2018, their growth rate was about 33%, which decreased to 6.7% during the year 2018 to 2022. There has been a significant increase in the number of tigers in the Shivalik hills and the Gangetic plains while a decline has been observed in Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
