Payment solutions provider, Omnicard has announced that it has become the first RBI licensed PPI (Prepaid Payment Instrument) to start cash withdrawal using RuPay-powered cards from any ATM across the country. The move comes after RBI allowed non-bank licensed entities to enable cash withdrawal from digital wallets.

The first ever India-European Union (EU) security and defense consultations were held in Brussels, Belgium. The consultations were held in accordance with the decision taken at the India-EU summit in July 2020. The consultations were co-chaired by Somnath Ghosh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, and Sandeep Chakraborty, Joint Secretary (Europe West), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India and Director Security and Defense Policy of the European Union. The Maritime Security Dialogue was held for the second time in February 2022. The first ever joint naval exercise between India and the European Union was held in June 2021.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair the ‘first national conference of chief secretaries’ in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala city on June 16 and 17. The conference will be held at HPCA stadium in the city and will mark a significant step towards further strengthening the partnership between the Centre and the state governments.The event that will begin on June 15, will go on for two days. Indian Bank launched its KCC Digital Renewal Scheme to enable eligible customers to renew their Kisan Credit Card accounts through digital mode. The initiative is part of the Bank’s digital transformation under ‘Wave’ – a world of advanced virtual experiences. Account renewal can be done using Indian Bank’s Endosys Mobile App and Internet Banking. Out of the total agriculture portfolio of Rs 88,100 crore, KCC with 15.84 lakh customers constitutes Rs 22,300 crore.

The Government of India has launched Agneepath Military Recruitment Scheme, a 4-year tenure plan for defense soldiers. The scheme will facilitate induction of more soldiers for a shorter tenure. The scheme has been planned and is being implemented by the Department of Military Affairs. ‘Agneepath’ is a short term service youth recruitment scheme for the Armed Forces which operates across India. The people selected for the scheme will be named Agnivar, and they will work in different terrains like desert, mountain, land, sea and air.
