The ‘Jupiter 3’ satellite, developed by Maxar Technologies in Palo Alto, California, holds the record as the largest commercial communications satellite ever built. The Maharashtra government has decided to confer the first ‘Udyog Ratna’ award on veteran industrialist and Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata. State Industries Minister Uday Samant announced this. He said, ‘Like the Maharashtra Bhushan Award, which is given to distinguished persons, the state government has decided to confer the Udyog Ratna Award on Ratan Tata. He said that a meeting was held in this regard by a committee comprising Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and Industries Minister, in which this decision was taken.
