Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal released the Oriya version of the book – “Gita Acharan – A Practitioner’s Viewpoint” at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The book has been authored by Shri K Shiv Prasad, a senior IAS officer from Punjab, currently posted as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor of Punjab. Speaking on the occasion after the release of “Geeta Acharan – Ek Sadhakar Drishti Konaru”, Prof. Lal said that the Gita helps to overcome the crisis of identity and take everyone to a state of realization.

Damodar Moujo, a Goan short story writer, novelist, critic and screenwriter in Konkani, has been conferred with the 57th Jnanpith Award, India’s highest literary honour. Maujo is the second Goan to receive the award after Ravindra Kelekar in 2008. Maujo has 25 books published in Konkani and one in English. Many of his books have also been translated into different languages.

Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has emerged as the best bank as far as management of bad loans is concerned, with its net non-performing assets (NPAs) coming down to 0.25 per cent during the financial year ending March 2023. This is the lowest ratio among not only public sector banks (PSBs) but all banks with a total business of more than Rs 3 lakh crore, according to the published annual count of banks. HDFC Bank’s net NPAs fell to 0.27 per cent followed by the Pune-based state-owned lender and Kotak Mahindra Bank with 0.37 per cent net advances.
