भारतीय पुरुष टेबल टेनिस टीम ने सेमीफाइनल में दक्षिण कोरिया से 0-3 से हारने के बाद कतर के दोहा में एशियाई टेबल टेनिस चैंपियनशिप में कांस्य पदक जीता। क्वार्टर फ़ाइनल में ईरान को 3-1 से हराकर भारतीय टीम को पदक पक्का हो गया था। दोनों सेमीफाइनलिस्ट ने कांस्य पदक हासिल किया।

The Indian men’s table tennis team won a bronze medal at the Asian Table Tennis Championships in Doha, Qatar after losing 0-3 to South Korea in the semi-finals. The Indian team was assured of a medal after beating Iran 3-1 in the quarter-finals. Both the semi-finalists took bronze medals.

FC Goa captain Eduardo Bedia scored the most important goal in the 105th minute after the final match went into extra time. The 2021 Durand Cup was the 130th edition of the Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia. The tournament was held in West Bengal from 05 September to 03 October 2021.

BC Patnaik has taken over as the Managing Director of Life Insurance Corporation of India. He was appointed as the Managing Director on July 5, 2021 by notification of the Government of India. Prior to taking over as the Managing Director of LIC, Patnaik was the General Secretary, Insurance Ombudsman Council, Mumbai. He joined LIC of India in March 1986 as a Direct Recruitment Officer.

CSIR’s Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology has started Cinnamon Cultivation in Himachal Pradesh on a pilot basis. True cinnamon or Cinnamomum wormwood is grown mainly in Sri Lanka, while smaller producing countries include Seychelles, Madagascar and India.

It is priced between Rs 60-70 per kilogram in domestic markets and has a sizable demand overseas as well, officials said. Anil Patil, a third-generation Wada Kolam farmer, said some 2,500 people are engaged in cultivating this variety in 180 villages in Wada taluka.

The Centre has declared three districts of Arunachal Pradesh and areas falling under two police stations in another district “disturbed” under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act for six more months in view of the insurgent activities and review of the law-and-order.
