कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह के पद से इस्तीफा देने के बाद कांग्रेस पार्टी ने निवर्तमान तकनीकी शिक्षा मंत्री चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी को पंजाब का नया मुख्यमंत्री चुना है। उन्हें पंजाब कांग्रेस विधायक दल के नेता के रूप में चुना गया है। वह चमकौर साहिब विधानसभा क्षेत्र से विधायक हैं। वह पंजाब के पहले दलित मुख्यमंत्री बनेंगे।

After the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh, the Congress party has elected outgoing Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi as the new Chief Minister of Punjab. He has been elected as the leader of the Punjab Congress Legislature Party. He is an MLA from Chamkaur Sahib Assembly Constituency. He will become the first Dalit Chief Minister of Punjab.

The 15th edition of the Indo-Nepal joint military training exercise Surya Kiran will be conducted from September 20, 2021 in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The previous edition of Exercise Surya Kiran was held in Nepal in 2019. The exercise was called off in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice has launched “Ek Pahal” campaign to encourage mass registration under Tele-Law. Ek Pahal Abhiyan will run from September 17 to October 2 across the country. The “Ek Pahal” campaign will cover 51,434 common service centers in 50,000 gram panchayats in 633 districts across 34 states and union territories.
