अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति एथलीट आयोग ने फ़िनलैंड की आइस हॉकी खिलाड़ी एम्मा टेरहो को अपना अध्यक्ष और कोरिया गणराज्य के टेबल टेनिस खिलाड़ी सियुंग मिन यू को अपना पहला उपाध्यक्ष चुना। आयोग ने न्यूजीलैंड के साइकिल चालक सारा वाकर को आयोग के दूसरे वीसी के रूप में भी चुना।

The International Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission elected Finnish ice hockey player Emma Terho as its president and Korea Republic table tennis player Seung Min Yoo as its first vice-president. The commission also selected New Zealand cyclist Sarah Walker as the commission’s second VC.

The Indian Air Force and the Royal Air Force of Oman have conducted a bilateral air exercise named Eastern Bridge-VI from 21 to 25 February 2022 at Air Force Station Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Eastern Bridge-VI is the sixth edition of the exercise. The exercise will provide an opportunity to enhance operational capability and interoperability between the two Air Forces.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Bharti Praveen Pawar inaugurated India’s first Biosafety Level-3 Control Mobile Laboratory in Nashik, Maharashtra. The mobile laboratory will help in the investigation of newly emerging and re-emerging viral infections by specially trained scientists of ICMR. The newly launched lab will be able to reach remote and wooded areas of the country to investigate outbreaks using samples from human and animal sources.

Himachal Pradesh has got the first Biodiversity Park to contribute to the conservation of the endangered Himalayan herb. This park is ready to be built in the Bhulah Valley of Mandi. The Biodiversity Park has been set up by the Forest Department of Himachal Pradesh under the National Mission for Himalayan Studies at a cost of Rs 1 crore. The park aims to expand new opportunities for researchers to explore various medicinal herbs found in the Himalayas that are on the verge of extinction, as well as adding to tourism activities.

Coal India Limited, a Maharatna company of the Government of India, has been awarded the ‘India’s Most Trusted Public Sector Company’ award. Coal India received this honor at the “Energy Meet and Excellence Award” function organized by industry body “ASSOCHAM” in Kolkata.
