India, Australia and the UK in collaboration with small island developing states plan to launch a new initiative “Infrastructure for Resilient Island States” on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties. The IRIS platform aims to create an infrastructure that can withstand disasters and reduce economic losses in the island nations.

Dr. Rajiv Nigam, former Chief Scientist of CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, for excellence in foraminiferal research in 2022 Joseph A. Cushman Award. Dr. Nigam is the first Indian citizen to be selected for the prestigious award. He has been selected for his outstanding lifelong contribution to foraminifera (microfossil) research.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull – Netherlands) has won the 2021 United States Grand Prix held at the Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas, United States. This is Verstappen’s eighth win this season. The race was the 17th round of the 2021 Formula One World Championship. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes-Great Britain) finished second while Sergio Perez (Mexico-Red Bull) finished third.

भारतीय नौसेना ने आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव समारोह के एक भाग के रूप में कोच्चि से गोवा तक एक ऑफशोर सेलिंग रेगाटा (Regatta) का आयोजन किया है, और सबसे बढ़कर, नौसेना कर्मियों के बीच साहसिक और समुद्री नौकायन की भावना को बढ़ावा देता है। इंडियन नेवल सेलिंग एसोसिएशन के तत्वावधान में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में छह भारतीय नौसैनिक नौकायन जहाजों (आईएनएसवी) की भागीदारी दिखाई देगी, जिसमें चार 40 फुटर और दो 56 फुटर शामिल हैं। ये पोत कोच्चि में नौसेना बेस से गोवा के शुरुआती बिंदु के बीच कुल 360 समुद्री मील की दूरी तय करेंगे।

The Indian Navy has organized an Offshore Sailing Regatta from Kochi to Goa as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, and above all, fosters the spirit of adventure and sailing among naval personnel. Organized under the aegis of the Indian Naval Sailing Association, the event will see the participation of six Indian Naval Sailing Ships (INSVs), comprising four 40 footers and two 56 footers. These ships will cover a total distance of 360 nautical miles between the Naval Base in Kochi to the starting point of Goa.

Denmark’s Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen won the men’s singles 2021 Denmark Open badminton held at Odense Sports Park, Denmark. He defeated world number one Kento Momota of Japan. Akane Yamaguchi of Japan won her second title in the women’s category by defeating Aan Se-young (South Korea).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission” from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on October 25, 2021. Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is one of the largest pan-India schemes to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country and is in addition to the National Health Protection Mission (Ayushman Bharat Yojana).

The first IVF calf of the “Bunni” breed of buffalo, which is mainly found in the Kutch region of Gujarat, was born in the house of a farmer in Gir Somnath district of the state. The process was carried out to increase the number of genetically superior buffaloes to increase milk production. Banni buffalo is known for its resilience and high milk production capacity in dry environment.
