Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan presented the 8th National Photography Awards in New Delhi. A total of thirteen awards were presented during the ceremony today, which included six awards each in the professional and amateur categories. Lifetime Achievement Award- Ms. Sipra Das and Professional Photographer of the Year Award- Mr. Shashi Kumar Ramachandran.

The 23rd Commonwealth Legal Conference was inaugurated by the Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. By Sreedharan Pillai. Union Minister for Law and Justice Shri Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant also participated in this five-day conference to be held from March 5-9, 2023. 500 delegates from 52 countries are participating in this conference. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju during his address emphasized on the importance of this conference as a perfect platform for open discussion on important issues.

Veteran actor-writer-director Satish Kaushik has passed away at the age of 67. Kaushik was born on April 13, 1965 in Haryana, is an alumnus of NSD and FTII, and started his film career in the early 1980s. He was an Indian actor, comedian, screenwriter, director and producer. He acted in theaters before getting his break in Bollywood.

Through this conference, the Naval Commander will hold institutional level discussions with senior officers of the Government on important security issues. The first phase of the Commanders’ Conference will be held for the first time onboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will address the Naval Commanders onboard INS Vikrant on the first day. The Chief will interact with the Chief of Defense Staff and the Naval Commanders in Chief of the Indian Army and Air Force.

Colonel Geeta Rana of the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers has become the first woman officer of the Indian Army to command a field workshop on the forward front in eastern Ladakh. Ms. Rana is currently a Colonel in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). The Indian Army has also approved women officers to take up the role of commanders.

For which, in order to connect the women of the state with employment, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the launch of Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana 2023 during the program organized at Main Sevak Sadan on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced on 8 March 2023 that Group Captain Shalija Dhami will take over the command of the Missile Squadron in the Western Sector. Ms. Dhami has become the first Indian woman officer to reach this. Dhami was commissioned as a helicopter pilot in the year 2003. Dhami has over 2800 hours of flying experience. Dhami has been involved in several search, rescue and flood relief operations conducted by the Indian government.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a Central Armed Police Force in India, established under an Act of the Parliament of India on 10 March 1969 with a strength of 2,800. Later CISF was made an Armed Force of the Republic of India by another Act of Parliament passed on 15 June 1983, since then the day is celebrated every year on 10 March. CISF provides security to 300 industrial units and other establishments located all over India.
