व्याख्या:- 27 अप्रैल, 2010 को बाल्टिक सागर राज्यों की परिषद के बाल्टिक सागर एनजीओ फोरम ने पहली बार विश्व एनजीओ दिवस की स्थापना की। डेनमार्क,फिनलैंड, जर्मनी, आइसलैंड, एस्टोनिया, लातविया, लिथुआनिया, पोलैंड, रूस, नॉर्वे और स्वीडन जैसे देश बाल्टिक सागर एनजीओ फोरम के मेंम्बर हैं। दो साल बाद, मंच के अंतिम वक्तव्य संकल्प ने एनजीओ दिवस को अपनाया। 27 फरवरी 2014 को फ़िनलैंड के हेलसिंकी में फ़िनलैंड के विदेश मंत्रालय ने विश्व एनजीओ दिवस वैश्विक उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम प्रायोजित किया।
On April 27, 2010, the Baltic Sea NGO Forum of the Council of the Baltic Sea States established World NGO Day for the first time. Countries such as Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Norway and Sweden are members of the Baltic Sea NGO Forum. Two years later, the Forum’s final statement resolution adopted NGO Day. The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs sponsored the World NGO Day global inaugural event on 27 February 2014 in Helsinki, Finland.
