Former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Rajendra Menon has been re-elected as Chairman of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) for a four-year term, ensuring his leadership till June 6, 2027. This is his second consecutive term as Speaker. Sitharaman, who is on a three-day visit to Sri Lanka, visited the main Hindu temple in the multi-ethnic city before inaugurating the State Bank of India branch in Trincomalee.

The Election Commission of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education to bring electoral literacy to schools across the country. It aims to include voter education and electoral literacy in the curriculum from classes 6th to 12th in all schools. Under the MoU, study material on electoral literacy will be included in NCERT school textbooks and state education boards will also be advised to follow the same.

Launched in 2013, the Dutch Golden Visa initiative was designed to stimulate the economic development of the Netherlands. Under the program foreign investors were required to contribute a minimum of €1,250,000 to Dutch businesses. The program was in line with the goals of many other countries that offer similar investment schemes. However, from January 2024, the Netherlands will discontinue its ‘Golden Visa’ programme.
