Ratan Tata Trust has recently announced the launch of India’s first advanced Small Animal Hospital in Mahalaxmi area of South Mumbai. As a long pending pet project, his veterinary hospital for Mumbai is now ready. Spread over 2.2 acres, this hospital has been built at a cost of about Rs 165 crore. According to the World Bank’s ‘Logistics Performance Index Report (2023), India is ranked 38th out of 139 countries. India’s rank has improved by six places from 44 in 2018 and by sixteen places from 54 in 2014. This information was shared by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Som Prakash in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. The LPI is an interactive benchmarking tool that helps countries identify challenges and opportunities in their performance on trade logistics.

The Central Government has announced the award of Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, to former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh and the father of Green Revolution Dr MS Swaminathan. Bharat Ratna MS Swaminathan was born on August 7, 1925 in Tamil Nadu. Dr. Swaminathan served as the Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education in the Government of India.

व्याख्या:- अनुभवी भारतीय राजनयिक इंद्र मणि पांडेय ने सात सदस्यीय बिम्सटेक के नए महासचिव के रूप में कार्यभार संभाल लिया। भारतीय विदेश सेवा (आईएफएस) के 1990 बैच के अधिकारी पांडे जिनेवा में संयुक्त राष्ट्र और अन्य अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठनों में भारत के स्थायी प्रतिनिधि के तौर पर काम कर रहे थे। बिम्सटेक (BIMSTEC) में भारत के अलावा श्रीलंका, बांग्लादेश, म्यांमार, थाईलैंड, नेपाल और भूटान शामिल हैं। पांडेय ने ढाका में बिम्सटेक के सचिवालय में इसके चौथे महासचिव के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला। Veteran Indian diplomat Indra Mani Pandey took charge as the new Secretary General of seven-member BIMSTEC. Pandey, a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), was working as India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva. Apart from India, BIMSTEC includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan. Pandey took charge at the BIMSTEC Secretariat in Dhaka as its fourth Secretary General.
