व्याख्या:- राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस 25 जनवरी को प्रतिवर्ष भारत में मनाया जाता है। भारत निर्वाचन आयोग इस साल पूरे देश में 12वां राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मना रहा है।वर्ष 2011 में तात्कालिक राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा देवी पाटिल ने पहली बार 25 जनवरी 2011 को ‘राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस’ मनाने की शुरुआत की थी। राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस को 25 जनवरी के दिन मनाने का एक खास कारण है। भारत की आजादी के तीन वर्ष बाद जब 1950 में 26 जनवरी को संविधान लागू किया गया, तो उससे एक दिन पहले यानी 25 जनवरी 1950 को चुनाव आयोग की स्थापना हुई। भारत के चुनाव आयोग के स्थापना दिवस के दिन राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाने का फैसला लिया गया।
National Voters’ Day is celebrated annually in India on 25 January. The Election Commission of India is celebrating the 12th National Voters’ Day across the country this year. In the year 2011, the then President Pratibha Devi Patil first started celebrating ‘National Voters’ Day’ on January 25, 2011. There is a special reason for celebrating National Voters Day on 25th January. Three years after India’s independence, when the constitution was implemented on January 26, 1950, a day before that i.e. on January 25, 1950, the Election Commission was established. It was decided to celebrate the National Voters’ Day on the foundation day of the Election Commission of India.
